Hi there! It's been a busy couple of months! I've been a little busy, getting used to my job, planning for Coachella, and finally having time to rest after coming back from Coachella *phew*
So let's start with my job!
Still doing good! getting closer to my coworkers and having a great time there!! I'm still figuring out my latte art, getting the milk to steam properly, and finding the right taste that our espresso should be at. It's a lot, but I'm getting better everyday! I'm finding my preferred espresso flavor is light, but also you get the subtle notes of the coffee to come through, I'm joking that it's turning me into a coffee snob, but I'm afraid it might not be a joke anymore T.T
Also at work we had a "team bonding" day, where the owners of the store got us tickets to Disneyland!?!? That's so nice what the heck!!! I've never had a job like that before, it's crazy to be appreciated in that way! I think the only time there was a possiblity of going to an amusement park is at my old job, but it was a competition for who sold the most sandwiches I think. Needless to say our store didn't win lol. So to actually have someone appreciate us in this way was just really nice!!!
So now moving onto Coachella madness!
I started preparing like a week after my last entry on here, I realized it was coming up so fast and I only rlly had my tips from work to help pay for what I needed, since I was still new to my job and hadn't had a steady paycheck/schedule yet. I got a new external battery that can last 2 days and multiple charges, and it came in handy so much to just carry one charger compared to the two I usually bring with me, and I didn't have to worry about the batteries running out! I highly reccomend it! It was the Anker Zolo Power Bank, I got it in pink ^^. Another useful thing I got that I feel like I didn't end up needing, but I didn't know that until we got to the festival, was the Jisulife Handheld Mini Fan, that's also a flashlight and charger, so I techincally carried two chargers with my anyway, but never used this one lol. Something I got, but didn't use as much as I should, but I feel like that's just me, was this collapsable water bottle.
I also ended up making a skirt and it reminded me of a dark fairy! I'd love to adjust the pattern and make a new one that I can use for going out fits. The fabric was from a long dress that I thrifted and just wanted for a lace trim that was on the botom. I ended up having just enough fabric from the dress to use for the skirt so it felt so perfect! The fabric is a little weird, but it did the job for a weekend in the desert!
So for the looks for the week; For day one I wore a black slip dress, and added lace to the bottom of it from the dress I thrifted to make it more delicate. I wore my fishnet thigh highs and a pair of New Rock shoes that I didn't have enough time to break in rip T.T But they looked very cute with the outfit! For the second day, I wore the skirt I made, with this cute green/black sequin halter top that I thrifted, I wore some black fishnets with it and my platform docs to rest my feet T.T On the third day, Easter, I had an idea for an outfit, but it didn't work out, so the night before we left I had to figure out a whole new outfit T.T I ended up using this black backless dress, with a black skirt that my grandma crocheted for me over the top of it. Then I wore my docs again. We also had bunny ears so we all matched in our group! I also handed out the cutest little bunny trinkets, and I loved making everyone so happy with them! I also made some kandi too, but the main goal was to make it for my friends and if I had enough time I'd make more, so I was only able to make like 5 bracelets to hand out to others as well! It was still so fun to do! Sorry I'm losing track of this paragraph... Another thing I got was a black keffiyeh. I finally had a little bit of money to get one and I'm so glad I did, it helped out so much with the dust and it was nice seeing so many other people wearing theirs as well! It was a nice little solidarity moment!
Okay so here's the craziness that led up to the festival! After working nonstop for a week and a half, the last day of work before the fun began also happened to be me and my partners 9 year anniversary!!! So after working an opening shift (I'm not a morning person at all), I had to run to get a haircut, it's so cute and I still love it!!! It too a long time because I decided to get the red in my hair touched up all over so we had to bleach and dye the hair before cutting it. Then once that was done, I had to race home because we had a dinner appointment at this creole food restaurant. It's so good!! I've been there before, but my partner had never been and creole food is one of his favorite genres of food. I expected nothing less and enjoyed my dinner so much!! Then we had to quickly run home, pack our bags because we were staying at a place closer to Disneyland. I don't think we finally had time to rest until we got into the room which was around 10 pm T.T
Then the next day! We got up super early to meet my coworkers at Disneyland, we had a fun time and it was v chill getting to know everyone better and also some of their partners! I'm glad my partner also works in coffee so they at least had someting in common! We did some rides, ate some good food, and then left around 8 pm so I could go home and pack for Coachella the next day! Thankfully I had written a packing list, and prepacked some smaller things, so dealing with the rest was easy! Then I passed out, I didn't even have time to greet my friends who were spending the night.
Finally was the day we've all been stressing over! We got up at 6 am, packed the car, and my lovely partner made everyone a light breakfast so we could start the day on a good note! Around 8 am we got in the car, stopped and got coffee, I got a "black eye" (that's what I'm calling it. Kinda like a red eye but crazier). It's a coke with a bunch of ice and however many shots of espresso poured over it. Only to use in desperate situations because that caffeine content will wake you up in seconds!!
I think I will leave off here as a part one, because I still have so much more to talk about and this is already getting pretty long! Sorry to do this to you!! It's also 10:30pm and I'd like to go to sleep soon. I promise it won't take me 2 months to update again. I've been missing this site, but still don't have a working laptop so I have to dedicate time to sitting at my big computer which is a lot sometimes. Anyways! I'll update again soon!!!
