Fourth Wing
By Rebecca Yarros
So I started reading/listening to Fourth Wing in January, during the last couple days of my seasonal job. I was instantly hooked and even had to listen to it while I waS working. I think I got through 3/4 of it before my audiobook credits on spotify were over and I finally had to switch to kindle (I wanted to buy it, but I was between jobs and my parents already had a kindle account so the book was free). Thanks to being btwn jobs I was able to read it during my downtimes when working on my art market products. I've never been that attached to a book than when I was reading Twilight in middle school.
I love how we just jump into the world, like the way it was written made me instantly see the world and get sucked in. I love a good forbidden enemies to lovers trope and this had the right amount for me! I feel like although the plot twists were cheesy, they got me good. I was so engrossed in the book I didn't think about what was coming next.
I loved the introduction of a seventh type of dragon, since the whole Andarna randomly deciding to choose Violet at a young age was displayed as odd for dragons. Like I feel like if I reread the book series I'd see so many hints to it that I didn't notice the first time around. I love that in a story! I'm currently reading the newest book in the series, Onyx Storm, I'm taking my time with it just so I can enjoy it more!
